Content Creator, Nasboi Laments Over AMVCA Snub
While captioning the photo of the ‘Best Online Social Content Creator,’ Nasboi tweeted on how he felt not getting nominated for this year’s AMVCA edition.
In his words, “After missing out on getting a nomination at the AMVCA last night, na to focus on making money now.”
He further expressed that the ‘good work’ in the entertainment industry no longer holds power.
“Last last the good work does not count,” he added.
However, the tweet has since been deleted after it met reaction from netizens, agreeing to the skit maker’s displeasure.
The AMVCA unveiled the nominees for various categories on Sunday, April 16, 2023, in what is widely considered one of the biggest award ceremonies in Africa.
The nominations include films made from December 1, 2021 to January 31, 2023, and features performers and behind-the-scenes members in numerous relevant award categories.
Like many film award platforms, the announcement of nominations for the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) creates a buzz that is almost as intense as the actual award ceremony.
